Molecular Therapeutics & Formulation, Targeted Skin Delivery, Protein Therapeutics and Cell-based Drug Delivery Methods

Spring Colloquium, 25 and 26 April, 2019

All attendees were welcomed by Paul Giffen at GSK and CDT Director, Dr Snow Stolnik.

Day 1 was held at GSK in Stevenage.  The morning session consisted of talks from different GSK departments, the first was from Andy Nicholls (Global Head of Bio-imaging) followed by Dave Pearce (Inclusive Design Lead), then Alec Simpson (Global Spectroscopy) and lastly Rita Majithiya (Gene and Cell Therapy).

The afternoon consisted of tours of the Bio-imaging and Global Spectroscopy laboratories.

Day 2 was held at the UCL School of Pharmacy in London.  The morning session was kicked off by James Butler (GSK) with his presentation entitled “In vitro models for the prediction of in vivo performance of oral dosage forms: Recent progress from partnership through the IMI OrBiTo collaboration” followed by student presentations based on the theme of Molecular Therapeutics & Formulations.

The afternoon session focused on student presentations based on the themes of Targeted Skin Delivery, Protein Therapeutics and Cell-based Drug Delivery Methods.  This was followed by a CV clinic for students in their 3rd and 4th year.

The event also included a networking evening with food and mini golf.
