Soft skills training afternoon

A wide range of topics were covered including assertiveness and confidence building, designing and delivering effective presentations as well as tips on improving CV and making an impact during interviews. These key skills are necessary to set applicants apart from other candidates during job interviews and help in ensuring that applications are successful.

Speakers ranged from PhD students to company CEO’s that gave up time to share their experience and expertise. Students found the event to be extremely useful as it helped them to develop skills in an area that is frequently neglected in most PhD training courses.
