CDT students, academics and industrial sponsors with a particular interest in patient-centric drug product design and development met again in the Second Meeting in Advanced Patient Centric Therapeutics held at UCL School of Pharmacy in London.
The event focussed on presentations from CDT students, including Sally Gittings, Alison Keating, Claire Lewis, Felipe Lopez, Alex Keeley, Joseph Ali and Benjamin Bowles.
Dr Alastair Coupe gave an inspiring presentation about the importance of collaboration between Industry and Academia where he introduced the SPaeDD-UK project, an open innovation R&D project that aims at accelerating paediatric formulation development.
The event finished with a networking session where the attendees could share their experiences and explore further areas for potential collaboration.
The Patient-Centric Therapeutics group keeps evolving within the CDT in Targeted Therapeutics and Formulation Sciences and the CDT in Advanced Therapeutics and Nanomedicines, with various PhD students involved in this research area across both Universities (Nottingham and UCL).
The Patient-Centric Therapeutics group connects various PhD students, academics and industry sponsors within the CDT throughout a network of research projects that aim to enhance knowledge and develop tools to facilitate the development of patient-centric medicines, particularly for paediatric and geriatric patients.
