Ioanna-Danai Styliari wins Young Modellers Forum 2014 Poster Prize

CDT student Ioanna-Danai Styliari was one of two winners of the Poster Prize at the Young Modellers Forum, which was held on 28 November at the School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS), London, UK. The 2014 Young Modellers forum was being held to encourage young molecular modellers at the beginning of their careers, with PhD students presenting their work on issues of computational chemistry or computational biology.

Ioanna’s poster was entitled “Molecular dynamics simulations for the study of drug nanoparticles coated with mPEG-PCL dblock copolymers”, with the other prize going to Kathryn Kellett (University of Hertfordshire) for her poster “Metadynamics Analysis of Potential Host Molecules for Detection of NPS Mephedrone”.

The competition to present at this event is high and the selection of abstracts is very strict, which ensures the 12 posters presented, as well as the other talks, are of an extremely high standard. Noting the quality of the other posters and PhD students, Ioanna admitted “I am extremely proud of this poster prize as it was in a very focused and demanding computational modelling event, judged by experts in the field.”
