Colloquium 2015
After a two week period of training, both UCL and Nottingham CDT students attended the first Colloquium on Nottingham University Jubilee campus.
Current students, teaching staff and sponsors welcomed the new cohort and shared important information with them prior to the start of their PhD programmes.
The day also included presentations from current students who demonstrated what they had achieved in the past year. To finish there was an organised debate between new students on “Should we be adding β-blockers to the water?” & “Should gastric bypasses be available to teenagers?”.
Huge thanks go to Drs Giuseppe Mantovani, Martin Garnett, Andrew Hook, Franco Falcone, Michael Stocks, Patrick Barton, Giovanna Sicilia, Frankie Rawson, and James Dixon for their help and lectures during the training week. Also, thanks to all those who helped organise the day and to CDT students who came to share their experiences (Maria-Galini-Faidra Angelerou, Alastair Breen, Amjad Abouselo, Harry Sherman, Ruggero Foralosso and Vasiliki Paraskevopoulou) for their help.

Eagerly anticipating the event start!
