CDT Student’s idea reaches Top 5 in Rethinking Kids’ Medication Contest

The ‘Rethinking Kids' Medication’ contest was developed within the frame of The CoCreate Healthcare Forum. The contest took place between 9th of November 2015 to 22nd of December 2015 during which time the participants were invited to submit innovative ideas and concepts within or across these four categories:

  • Dose Form
  • Packaging (primary and secondary)
  • Dosing & Administration Aids
  • Treatment Support

Felipe Lopez submitted an innovative dosage form and packaging concept called ‘YogHealth’ which consists of “a solid dosage form based on multiple small spherical dosage units (multiparticulates) which are included in a primary packaging system with two different chambers, one that contains the multiparticulates and another one that contains a vehicle of similar consistency to yoghurt”.

The YogHealth idea was ranked at 5th place by an expert jury out of 269 total submissions. The jury was comprised of external professionals, experts and representatives of AbbVie; covering a range of expertise from healthcare to marketing. The ideas were evaluated based on the criteria of:

  • ease of use,
  • global fit/market attractiveness,
  • degree of innovation and feasibility.
