Dr Delyan Ivanov

CDT alumnus Dr Delyan Ivanov developed a new technology to speed up testing of cancer drugs

After his PhD, Delyan was awarded the EPSRC Doctoral Prize fellowship during which he designed a device to speed up the histological and immunochemical characterisation of spheroid cultures and automate the analysis process. This technology has been shortlisted for the final round of the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) Innovation Award.

Delyans paper on ‘Spheroid arrays for high-throughput single-cell analysis of spatial patterns and biomarker expression in 3D’ has been published in Nature's Scientific Reports and has also been showcased by the University of Nottingham:

Delyan now works as Senior Scientist for AstraZeneca.
