Steven Participates in Voice of the Future 2019

Second Year CDT student Steven participated in the Voice of the Future event which took place in Parliament on Tuesday 12th March. The Voice of the Future event is an opportunity for scientists to question MPs and Ministers about science policy; this year organised by the Royal Society of Biology (RSB) on behalf of the science and engineering community. During the annual event the format of a Parliamentary Select Committee is reversed allowing a panel of early career scientists to question a small group of senior figures from Parliament.

Steven was chosen to be the representative for the Royal Society of Chemistry at the event. Held in Westminster, Steven attended panels which consisted of: John Bercow MP (Speaker of the House of Commons), Norman Lamb (MP), Sir Patrick Vallance (Chief Scientific Adviser), Chris Skidmore (MP and Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research & Innovation) and Chi Onwurah (MP and Shadow Minister for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy).

For more information on the event see the RSB coverage and a recording of the event is available on Parliament TV.
