Science in the Park 2019
The CDT participated in the popular Science in the Park event hosted by the Nottingham branch of the British Science Association. For the fourth year running students from the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Advanced Therapeutics and Nanomedicines ran outreach activities for children designed to ignite their curiosity and interest in science.

This year two new activities were designed; medicine making and potion brewing. The former involved using pipe cleaners and foam models to demonstrate how drugs like aspirin and paracetamol bind specifically to provide pain relief. The latter activity used common house hold foods, like oranges juice, lemonade and icing sugar to show the importance of creating a formulation which both looks and tastes good.

The CDT would like to thank all the student members who took part: Adelaide Jewell, Alice Brookes, Amy Nash, Anna Kotowska, Chloe Stewart, Georgios Papakostas, Gyulchin Sarova, Isobel Holden, Lorenzo Schiazza, Oran Maguire, Paula Muresan, Rebecca Olubi, Steven Gibney and Valentina Hashad.
