EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Transformative Pharmaceutical Technologies - Launch Meeting
Our newly funded EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Transformative Pharmaceutical Technologies held its launch evet at the University of Nottingham on April 1st, 2019.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the CDT industrial partners, the CDT Advisory Board members, preceding CDTs alumni, EPSRC Portfolio Manager, student representatives from our current CDT in Advanced Therapeutics and Nanomedicines, and academic applicants from University of Nottingham, UCL, and Synthesis and Solid State Pharmaceutical Centre (SSPC) Ireland.

The launch meeting featured introductory talks by all attending industry partners, Prof Cameron Alexander (Director of preceding CDTs), Dr Jon Booth (AstraZeneca), Matthew Weaver (EPSRC), and Prof Peter Timmins (Chair of the CDT Advisory Board). Prof Anne-Marie Healey introduced SSPC, while students on our current CDT in Advanced Therapeutics and Nanomedicines, Oran Maguire, Adelaide Jewell, Clarissa Harman, Akmal Sabri, Gordon Bruce, Karolina Dziemidowicz and Sadie Swainson presented their reflections on the CDT. Dr Snow Stolnik, the CDT PI and Director, introduced the new CDT and outlined its training programme.
