Jatin Mistry completes a 3 month secondment at Inovapotek

Jatin has recently completed a 3 month secondment (January – April 2018) at Inovapotek. This is Jatin’s second visit to Inovapotek, following a similar secondment visit last year. Inovapotek is a contract research organisation based at the Science and Technology Park of University of Porto (UPTEC), Portugal. During this secondment, Jatin was also a visiting PhD student in the lab of Bruno Sarmento at the Instituto de Investigação e Inovação da Universidade do Porto (i3s).

Whilst in Portugal, Jatin has been working on a project investigating the potential of lipid nanoparticle formulations for enhancing skin permeation of an active ingredient. Jatin has been involved in all stages of organising an in vivo human clinical study including HPLC analysis method development, solid lipid nanoparticle preparation, efficacy testing and regulatory affairs.

The secondment was funded through a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE) research programme. The Future Formulations (FutForm) RISE project aims to translate advanced analytical approaches developed within the School of Pharmacy (UoN) with early stage innovative technologies developed in small-medium enterprise (SME) companies.
