Colloquium Day 2: AstraZeneca visit

The CDT would like to thank Dr Eileen McBride and recent CDT alumna Dr Georgina Marsh for organising the great day at AstraZeneca and all AstraZeneca staff who contributed to and attended the event.

The theme of the day was Nanomedicines and Dr Marianne Ashford from AstraZeneca gave the plenary talk on ‘Developing Nanomedicines to enable Innovative Cancer Medicines’ followed by eight student presentations and a student poster session. We would also like to thank CDT student Liisa Niitsoo who chaired the session.  The best final year presentation, best flash presentation and best poster winners were Akosua Anane-Adjei, Catherine Vasey and Kaouthar Bouzinab, respectively

Students were also taken for an extensive tour of the research and production facilities and took part in a career and drug development workshop.
