CDT students offer outreach activities at Fun Palaces

CDT students designed, organised, and ran a science outreach event at Streatham Library, Lambeth, as part of the ‘Fun Palaces’ initiative: “Fun Palaces is an annual, free, nationwide celebration of culture at the heart of community, using arts, science, craft, tech, digital, heritage and sports activities as a catalyst for community engagement.” Both parents and children were very enthusiastic about the chance to both make and learn about hydrogels and their biomedical uses. Furthermore, they could see live 3D-printing demonstrations and learn all about its increasing use in personalised medicine and surgery. Everyone had a hands-on experience and left with some 3D-printed souvenirs!
