CDT PhD students Claire Lewis, Rosa Catania, Monica Mistry, Georgina Marsh and Gudrun Fridgeirsdottir have won the 20th national Biotechnology Yes competition.  Their winning entry, “ECTODECTO”, proposed the development of new materials capable of detecting and treating ectoparasites.  This is the first time that a team from the University of Nottingham have won this prestigious national competition. The team received a  £2,500 prize, sponsored places at the BioIndustry Association dinner, a delegate pass to PraxisUnico's 2016 Conference and the opportunity to attend the Rice Business Plan competition in the United States

The Biotechnology Young Entrepreneurs Scheme (YES) is an opportunity for early-career researchers from bioscience and environmental sciences to build entrepreneurial and business skills, and to learn about commercial development of their research.
